Andy invited us to a meeting at his house in the summer of 2020. He had a vision he wanted to share with us. We all agreed it was a good vision, one we wanted to be part of. He wanted to create something artistic and beautiful and vibrant with our collective abilities and bring the arts alive in Northwest Indiana, where we all live. He wanted to have an arm of our collective operate an Academy, to encourage and train the next generation. We formed, we applied for and obtained status as a state and federal 501c3 and thus it all began!
Halloween
At the Cedar Lake Historical Society and at the Crown Point Courthouse, we presented our Halloween Concert! A fun mixture of music with a scary sound / theme, it was our first concert with the addition of Ola Rafalo, dramatic mezzo-soprano. She did The Mash! It caught on in a flash... Our idea is to center music around holidays and take our audiences through a year of musical celebrations!
Veteran's Day 11/11/20
We were honored to be invited to present a patriotic concert in honor of our country's veterans at Great Oaks Banquets in Cedar Lake. At this concert, we took a collection that enabled us to give a generous donation to the Lowell VFW. Lakeside supports veterans, and believes in giving back.
Thanksgiving Concert
To give thanks musically, we presented a concert of hymns and other beautiful music on 11/23/20 at Faith Bible Church in Creston. The video of the concert is viewable in the link just below:

Christmas - A CD and a Concert Series
We recorded and produced a Christmas CD, all with music of our own unique arrangements. The recording was sponsored by Faith Bible Church in Creston. We then gave a series of Christmas Concerts: 12/4/20 Faith Bible Church in Creston 12/5/20 Faith Bible Church in Creston 12/18/20 Anderson's Winery in Valparaiso 12/21/20 Community United Reformed in St. John
A Wintry Mix
With this concert, we began an official series of monthly concerts at Anderson's Winery and Vineyard in Valparaiso. This concert featured the music of winter! It was given on Friday 1/15/21 at Anderson's Winery

VALENTINE'S CONCERT PROGRAM
Irish Strings - just as the poster states, a concert of jigs and reels and sentimental Irish ballads. A very popular concert, three sold-out crowds! And Andy wore a kilt!

The Art of the Hymn
Perhaps our strongest project. Again sponsored by Faith Bible Church, as was the Christmas CD. We arranged the hymns, recorded them at the church with our recording engineer Jacob Gardner, then Jacob, Ben and Andy did all of the mixing and mastering. This CD is something we feel very blessed to have been able to achieve. We present the hymns in a concert also named, "The Art of the Hymn" and are always looking for an opportunity to partner with a church or a person who would like to sponsor a hymn concert.

taMayo deSiGn iNc designed this for us, along with our monthly concert posters and our inaugural poster and our logo. We are grateful for their support!
Made In America
Rather than patriotic in feel, this was a concert of music that was made in America by Americans. So it was a great mixture of styles (jazz, classical, modern, pop, sacred)! And Rosie the Riveter is there to show we CAN bring back the music!
Cedar Lake Historical Society May 7
We were thrilled to be asked to help Cedar Lake celebrate its 100-year anniversary with music!
MAY MUSICALE: We celebrated Mother's Day...and Cinco de Mayo...and Spring, all in one fun concert with two separate performance locations! And at this concert, we welcomed a new member into our Guild: Rebekah Cope Evers!

A note of appreciation:
From my Dad who listened to the whole concert in England on his phone: "Totally loved it. I feel inspired and exhilarated by such lovely, creative music. Thank you for setting it up for us to 'be there'."

And more audience notes!
LB, an associate of mine, second time audience member, brought her mom and sister this time. I didn't even know she was Mexican- they recounted having heard her grandfather serenading her grandmother with 'Paloma Negra' every time it came on the radio! They really enjoyed the concert! Also Diane Jortner- the woman who publishes the neighbors papers in different NWI areas came to the winery concert and loved it- she is doing a story about us, in case some of you didn't know! And finally, my new friend Debbie came as well- and with tears in her eyes told me she hadn't realized how much her spirit was missing live music. She said she is inspired to go home and practice (she is a clarinetist)...she and her husband, also a woodwind player, met in orchestra many years ago and have both gone into other careers now. They enjoyed the concert immensely. We are gaining new fans every time ❤

From a first-time audience member re: May Musicale
Hello! It was so wonderful seeing live music on Saturday.... I have had some time to think about the concert, and it was really something. Opening with the "Flower Duet from Lakme" was as charming as can be, and I just loved the tangos and Mexican music. And, of course, who doesn't like Vivaldi? You all played so beautifully!! - MM
Beatles! We will begin our lineup of outdoor summer offerings with a very exciting concert of music of The Beatles. Again, these are all our own unique string arrangements!
Friday, June 4 Anderson's Winery Tammie, Rebekah, Ben, Pat, Andy
