What remains of the tree

It's not only new software and new computer that have me distracted. Eight buildings across the street have been demolished and in the same spirit, Blair took down the treehouse he built some years ago for the neighbor boys. The tree had died and it was becoming home to critters. I measure Blair's recuperation by the number of daredevil projects and engineering feats he undertakes. Good news, he's healthy. Bad news, he scares me. What he salvaged from this ant-infested tree is this maple bowl. It's really more of a colander. Part of me wants to fill every void with polymer. I guess I'm saying that pandemic, illness, destruction, rot..have their upsides. You have to look closely sometimes...always with an eye to how you might incorporate polymer along the way. And this little story is a test of how I can link my own Instagram to StudioMojo. More pictures at the link.

Tool of the week...

I'm a dot lover and have tried etch n pearl, leather cutters, extruders....you name it and I have fought with it to make tiny dots. This PacPen has a plunger and interchangeable nozzles with many other designs. It works easily with no sticking or picking. It's meant for serious miniaturists (not me) and it's not cheap but I am so pleased. Agnes sells a wide assortment of nozzles/cutters for other microwork. She shipped immediately but it took nearly a month to get to Ohio. I think I can take the PacPen into my prison classes since they're made of plastic (3D printed) and not sharp. Comes with care instructions.

Joan Tayler sells pre-made color chip sets for Premo and Fimo

She has made a limited number of stepped color chip sets. Reduce mistakes and waste following her mixing instructions. If you prefer, buy the tutorial and make your own.
