My studio work surface is strewn with sheets of color blends. I know that if I create blend after blend, my fingers will eventually follow Lindly's instructions without my having to think too much. Watching fuschia become purple is so satisfying. Lumpy clay quickly aligns itself into smooth sheets of amazing gradations. An upcoming swap has lit a fire under me. "What great colors!" people remark as they walk by. But research says that our machines and household items have toned themselves down. We're choosing more neutral-colored cars. Are we really becoming a less colorful world? A couple of links here lead us to current studies. And if you're really serious, follow the color nerd on TikTok. Color talk loses me quickly but when it's hands-on color, I'm all in. My world certainly doesn't feel less colorful (my car is a lovely dark blue). What are you driving? What's color did you choose when you last painted a wall? I'm thinking in color this week.
