Remember how we use to bristle when the Christmas ads started at Halloween? Is it just me or are we jumping right into it this year? Shop early! Be prepared. The countdown has begun. Now we're celebrating the white rabbit. What time is it? I'm late! I'm late! Maybe the times have softened us to the idea of togetherness and sharing. And what are these holidays all about anyway? Something broke loose for both Lindly and me at the Kentucky retreat. We both came back energized and feeling creative. A slicer and pasta machine may not exactly look like Santa's workshop but close. Are you more or less creative this season?

Countdown

  • Time for the holidays

The approach of the holidays inspired Ukraine's Iryna Limanska to create a fairy-tale character. She immediately remembered the white rabbit, who kept looking at his watch.

  • Festive earrings

Figg studio puts more holiday cheer in earrings than you thought possible

  • Jeff Dever under the Influence?

Under the influence of the holiday season, he clarifies. The calendar pushes him in this new line that reveals his fascination with Asian aesthetics meets modern art and mid-century design

Bon Bons

  • Curing polymer inlays

I'm on a bowl roll. Several people assumed I popped the bowl in the oven. No, no. A heat gun does it. The clay goes from shiny to dull as it cures. When it's hard and not spongy to the touch, my fingers know it's done. I usually give it a second or third firing. It will "pill" during sanding it it's not fully fired...and I'll have another go.

  • Lindly finds a new groove

Lindly reveals her new polymer interests on her Facebook page. She was surprised at how it all came flooding back and with fresh ideas! Her enthusiasm was a tonic for everyone at the Kentucky retreat

  • Ornaments of draped polymer

Continuing the draped polymer look. From junoandtani

  • Adam Thomas Rees from his new studio/garage
