What A Wonderful Day!

This powerful little song is what brought Tricia Walker and Robin Yoder together. This song was written by Tricia for a fundraiser event in Nashville benefitting the American Cancer Society. Years later, Robin happen to be attending an American Cancer Society Leadership conference where Tricia performed What A Wonderful Day. Robin tracked Tricia down afterwards introducing herself and her work with cancer patients in Richmond, VA. asking Tricia to come to Richmond. (This was in the mid 1990s) This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Tricia and Robin and the start of one of the most creative and healing programs, Say It In A Song, that ran from 2001-2012. • About Tricia....

  Tricia Walker is a singer /songwriter whose songs are steeped in the passion, pain and grace of the American South. Born and raised in Mississippi, Tricia has become one of the clearest voices of her own time and place. Her music has been recorded by Faith Hill, Patty Loveless and Alison Krauss, whose performance of Tricia’s Looking In The Eyes of Love, earned a Grammy. A recording artist herself, Tricia’s CD, The Heart Of Dixie, thoughtfully captures the songwriter’s view of the South with well-placed lyrics and music reflecting her folk, R & B, and storytelling influences. In 2008 she debuted her Upon A Christmas Eve CD of some original, something old and something new…a holiday treasure for sure. She is the former Director of the Delta Music Institute at Delta State University. She spent over 25 years in Nashville as an award winning singer/songwriter, publisher and producer. She helped found “Women In The Round”, one of the stellar songwriting showcases featured a the famous Bluebird Café. She is the owner of Big Front Porch Productions in Cleveland, Mississippi. Tricia has become a friend to cancer Survivors through her nationally known song, What A Wonderful Day! • About Bill....

  Bill Sinclair is originally from Hampton, Virginia. He is a multi-instrumentalist who moved to Nashville in the early 80’s to pursue his musical dreams. For eleven years, Bill was a key player with The Mudcats, an acoustic trio formed by Tricia Walker in the mid 80’s. The Mudcats toured regionally as well as playing as regulars in Nashville venues such as the Bluebird café and The Merchants. Bill’s talents are also featured as part of a unique Christmas recording entitled La Lumiere for Star Song Records. This is Bill’s 8th year with our Say It In A Song! Concert. He currently makes his home in Hagerstown, Maryland. Thank you for your generosity and friendship to The Hawthorne! We proudly welcome Bill to The Hawthorne and to Richmond!
