• Sessions | Adaptation Canada 2026

  Plenary sessions bring together leading voices to explore the trends, priorities, and opportunities shaping the future of climate adaptation in Canada, and what they mean for action on the ground. Adaptation Canada 2026 is Canada’s premier national conference on climate adaptation. From September 22 to 24, 2026 people and organizations from across sectors and regions will come together in Toronto to exchange ideas, share solutions, and spark action on climate resilience.

• WEBINAR | Bridging Barriers: Advancing Equitable Engagement & Partnerships in Climate Adaptation

  Bridging Barriers is a four-part webinar series focused on climate adaptation, emphasizing relational and systemic barriers rather than technical ones. It aims to equip municipalities and community organizations with tools to enhance equitable climate engagement, promote collaboration, and foster inclusivity. Each session builds on the previous, tackling issues like internal readiness, engagement design, and practical multi-sectoral partnerships. Participants will gain skills to lead equitable initiatives and connect with peers facing similar challenges in climate adaptation.

• Workshop Series - Natural Assets Initiative

  Learn to integrate natural assets into asset management planning through a four-part workshop series designed for Canadian local governments. Each 3-hour session, led by experts, covers topics like defining services, assessing conditions, identifying risks, and valuing natural assets. Open to groups of 3 to 15 participants, the series promotes cost-effective, climate-resilient planning, highlighting the importance of natural assets in supporting community services and enhancing infrastructure strategies.

• Community-based Lawyering in Northern, Indigenous Communities

  This content promotes awareness and education on key social justice issues, including access to justice, environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and climate justice. It emphasizes that access to justice is a fundamental human right, ensuring equal protection under the law and the opportunity to be heard. The message highlights the importance of protecting environmental quality and recognizing the rights of Indigenous peoples, including their inherent, Aboriginal, and Treaty rights, which are vital for safeguarding lands and waters. Additionally, it underscores the disproportionate impact of climate change on Indigenous communities, advocating for Indigenous-led climate action and responsible partnership. The resources include videos and educational materials aimed at fostering a more just, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable future by engaging individuals, policymakers, educators, and communities.

• The Climate Ready Communities Series

  Local leadership, lasting resilience. As climate change continues to accelerate, Canadian municipalities and Indigenous communities are at the forefront of responding to its growing challenges. The Climate Ready Communities Series is a FREE virtual webinar and workshop series that brings together municipal leaders to explore innovative, equitable and sustainable strategies for adapting to our changing climate through a climate adaptation and community equity lens. Throughout the series, participants will: Discover groundbreaking infrastructure and housing solutions that are transforming the way communities are designed, built and maintained to withstand climate impacts, while ensuring livability and long-term sustainability.

• Building to Net-Zero (BNZ) Community of Practice (CoP). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

  The BNZ CoP hosts monthly virtual sessions aimed at addressing challenges faced by municipalities, such as gaining internal support, fostering community engagement, and implementing effective green development practices. Open to all local governments and partners, these sessions include a variety of formats like webinars and workshops to encourage collaborative learning and problem-solving. The sessions are primarily in English, with simultaneous translation available during webinars.
