Remembering the Life and Works of Professor Stephen Hawking

A symbol of knowledge and intelligence in both the scientific community and popular culture, Stephen Hawking, (8 January 1942 – 14 March 2018) was one of the most brilliant theoretical physicists in history. Even after being diagnosed with a rare and debilitating motor neuron disease at the age of 22, he remained unfalteringly dedicated to his passion of understanding the very nature and wonders of the universe, and continued to make profound contributions to science until his passing at age 76. Despite his inability to speak in his later years, he was an outspoken an advocate of human-space exploration; continuously warning of global warming, the dangers of misusing artificial intelligence, biological warfare, as well as the possible existence of, and risk of communicating with extraterrestrials. Hawking will be remembered as an inspiration to many. He lived his life with a constant reminder that any day could very well be his last and thus developed an infectious desire to live his life to the fullest of its potential.
