  If you're traveling, you need a camera. I don't care if it's a GoPro (the most travel-friendly and light option of all), a smartphone, or a DSLR. CAPTURE THE MEMORIES! I'm slightly excessive and travel with an iPhone, GoPro, Canon 70D, and DJI Spark drone.

• Eye Mask and Ear Plugs

  Because you don't always know where you're going to end up sleeping. Party hostel? Pop those ear plugs in. Your light and airy Airbnb with sad excuses for curtains? Hello eye mask. Be prepared. Sleep is important.

• Microfiber Towel

  It’s a warm hug after a shower and your beach/picnic companion. It also dries super fast.

• Packing Cubes

  Packing light is hard, and organizing your crap is even harder. Make it simple by investing in some packing cubes. T-shirts over here...socks and undies over there...sweaters in that one...and voila!

• Luggage Scale

  If you’ve ever been screwed by Ryan Air or any other budget airline, you know what a necessity a luggage scale is. Without it, you end up throwing away a pair of nice shoes to avoid baggage fees.

• Laptop Sleeve

  Your most valuable electronic is arguably your laptop- so keep it pristine, clean and unharmed in a laptop sleeve.

• Power Bank

  Because 99% of your day is spent worrying about how much power you have on any given device at any given time. A back up is necessary.

• All-in-One Adapter with USB

  WHY CAN'T ALL OUTLETS JUST BE THE SAME!? One of these all-in-one travel adapters is the next best thing. Consider grabbing more than one if you have a lot of things that need pluggin'!

• Portable External Hard Drive

  If you're taking tons of photos, making videos, writing endless content, saving loads of files, and otherwise cramming your computer chock full with data, an external hard drive is a life saver.

• Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card

  If you're a digital nomad you're traveling a ton. If most of your money is going towards food, accommodation, and other travel-related expenses, you may as well rack up some points for it! This card also gets you airport lounge access, SCORE.

• First Aid Kit

  It's inevitable. You're going to fall, get headaches, get sick, or suffer some other minor inconvenience. Keep a travel-friendly first aid kit handy.

• Kindle E-Reader

  Just bought one of these bad boys myself! If you're trying to travel light AND you want to read alllll the books, you're gonna have a dilemma on your hands. While I love the feel of an actual book, the Kindle is my new space-saving solution. One charge also lasts for weeks!

• Netflix

  We all need a little bit of entertainment in our lives. When you don't have the luxury of cable TV at your disposal....Netflix.

• Travel Insurance

  If you're an adventurous soul, are accident prone, or have a lot of valuables on you, you'll want to get some travel insurance. World Nomads has been my provider of choice. IMG, Allianz, and Cigna are also good contenders.

• Collapsible Water Bottle

  When traveling, hydration is key. The Nomader Collapsible Water Bottle has a leak-proof cap, and it rolls up to save space when you're traveling around. You can throw it in a dishwasher, and it can handle your hot coffee AND your ice water. Bonus: it comes in loads of fun colors.

• Travel Hair Dryer

  Ok, absolute necessity? Maybe not, I'll admit it. I went YEARS without one. Most hostels/hotels/Airbnbs had one. BUT! On the one occasion that they didn't, and it was the dead of winter, or super humid and your hair frizzes into another stratosphere, you'll be glad you have your own. I recently bought the dryer linked here- it's small and folds right up for easy packing.
