How UK internet websites portray breast milk expression and breast pumps: a qualitative study of content.
Exclusive breastfeeding for six months is recommended but few parents achieve this; particularly younger and less well-educated mothers. Many parents introduce infant formula milk to manage feeding but describe a desire to express breastmilk alongside a lack of support or information. The Internet is highlighted as a key resource. This study aimed to examine UK websites on expressing breastmilk to identify key messages and how information is provided. We used search terms in Google to identify websites with information rich content on expressing breastmilk and breast pumps. Ten sites were purposively selected at two time points in 2013 and 2014 to represent 3 categories: commercial, NHS or 3(rd) sector (voluntary or not for profit). Each site was reviewed by two researchers, data and reflective analytical notes were uploaded into NVivo and thematic data analysis undertaken.

Deaereating feed tank - Wikipedia
A deaerating feed tank (DFT), often found in steam plants that propel ships, is located after the main condensate pump and before the main feed booster pump. It has these three purposes: Based on the relevant theoretical Rankine cycle diagram, there are four main processes, or steps: In the practical implementation of a Rankine cycle, it is common to break the single pump (process 1 to 2) into three pumps: (in water flow order: condensate pump, feed booster pump and then feedwater pump).

Condensing boiler - Wikipedia
Condensing boilers are water heaters fueled by gas or oil. They achieve high efficiency (typically greater than 90% on the higher heating value) by condensing water vapour in the exhaust gases and so recovering its latent heat of vaporisation, which would otherwise have been wasted. This condensed vapour leaves the system in liquid form, via a drain. In many countries, the use of condensing boilers is compulsory or encouraged with financial incentives.

Effect of a Heating System Using a Ground Source Geothermal Heat Pump on Production Performance, Energy-Saving and Housing Environment of Pigs.
This study examined the effects of a heating system using a ground source geothermal heat pump (GHP). A GHP was installed in a pig house, and a comparative analysis was performed between the GHP and the control (conventional heating system) in terms of the production performance, housing environment, noxious gas emissions, electricity consumption, and economics. The geothermal system performance index, such as the coefficient of performance (COP), inlet, and outlet temperature, were also evaluated. The outflow temperature during each period (weaning, growing, and finishing) was significantly higher than the inflow temperature in all three components of the GHP system. Similarly, the average internal temperature of the GHP-connected pig house was increased (p < 0.05) during each period. The carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration, electricity usage, and cost of electricity during the 16-week experimental period were reduced significantly in the GHP system relative to the control. The concentrations of ammonia (NH3) during the growing and finishing period and the concentrations of formaldehyde during the weaning phase were also lower in the GHP-installed pig house (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the GHP system can be used as an environmentally friendly renewable energy source in pig houses for sustainable pig production without harming the growth performance.

Ground source heat pump - Wikipedia
A ground source heat pump (also geothermal heat pump) is a heating/cooling system for buildings that uses a type of heat pump to transfer heat to or from the ground, taking advantage of the relative constancy of temperatures of the earth through the seasons. Ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) – or geothermal heat pumps (GHP) as they are commonly termed in North America – are among the most energy-efficient technologies for providing HVAC and water heating, using far less energy than can be achieved by burning a fuel in a boiler/furnace or by use of resistive electric heaters.

Solar to fuels conversion technologies: a perspective.
To meet increasing energy needs, while limiting greenhouse gas emissions over the coming decades, power capacity on a large scale will need to be provided from renewable sources, with solar expected to play a central role. While the focus to date has been on electricity generation via photovoltaic (PV) cells, electricity production currently accounts for only about one-third of total primary energy consumption. As a consequence, solar-to-fuel conversion will need to play an increasingly important role and, thereby, satisfy the need to replace high energy density fossil fuels with cleaner alternatives that remain easy to transport and store. The solar refinery concept (Herron et al. in Energy Environ Sci 8:126-157, 2015), in which captured solar radiation provides energy in the form of heat, electricity or photons, used to convert the basic chemical feedstocks CO2 and H2O into fuels, is reviewed as are the key conversion processes based on (1) combined PV and electrolysis, (2) photoelectrochemically driven electrolysis and (3) thermochemical processes, all focused on initially converting H2O and CO2 to H2 and CO. Recent advances, as well as remaining challenges, associated with solar-to-fuel conversion are discussed, as is the need for an intensive research and development effort to bring such processes to scale.

Assessing effectiveness of air purifiers (HEPA) for controlling indoor particulate pollution.
The present study deals with an evaluation of the air purifier's effectiveness in reducing the concentration of different sized particulate matter (PM) and ions in the real-world indoor environment. Two types of air purifiers (API and APII) mainly equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters that differed in other specifications were employed in general indoor air and the presence of an external source (candles and incense). The gravimetric sampling of PM was carried out by SKC Cascade Impactor and further samples were analyzed for determining ions' concentration while real-time monitoring of different sized PM was done through Grimm Aerosol Spectrometer (1.109). The result showed that API reduced PM levels of different sizes ranged from 12-52% and 29-53% in general indoor air and presence of external source respectively. Concerning the APII, a higher decrease percent in PM level was explored in presence of an external source (52-68%) as compared to scenarios of general indoor air (37-64%). The concentrations of the ions were noticed to be decreased in all three size fractions but surprisingly some ions' (not specific) concentrations increased on the operation of both types of air purifiers. Overall, the study recommends the use of air purifiers with mechanical filters (HEPA) instead of those which release ions for air purification.

Condensate pump - Wikipedia
A condensate pump is a specific type of pump used to pump the condensate (water) produced in an HVAC (heating or cooling), refrigeration, condensing boiler furnace, or steam system. Condensate pumps may be used to pump the condensate produced from latent water vapor in any of the following gas mixtures: Condensate recovery systems help reduce three tangible costs of producing steam: Condensate pumps as used in hydronic systems are usually electrically powered centrifugal pumps. As used in homes and individual heat exchangers, they are often small and rated at a fraction of a horsepower, but in commercial applications they range in size up to many horsepower and the electric motor is usually separated from the pump body by some form of mechanical coupling. Large industrial pumps may also serve as the feedwater pump for returning the condensate under pressure to a boiler.

A comparative environmental life cycle assessment between a condensing boiler and a gas driven absorption heat pump.
Gas absorption heat pumps represent an alternative to condensing boilers for space heating and domestic hot water production in existing buildings. In particular, they enable fuel saving and the exploitation of renewable energy even in heating systems based on radiators, which require high supply temperature. However, in order to provide useful indications to policymakers, manufacturers, and system designers, a fair comparison of two technologies has to be based, besides the energy consumption and the direct CO2 eq emissions, also the environmental impact over the entire life cycle. Thus, in this paper, the environmental profiles of a condensing boiler and a gas driven absorption heat pump are compared as competing technologies to provide space heating and domestic hot water in old (constructed before 1980) and not refurbished buildings. The assessment was carried out for three buildings located in three representative European climates, using 1 kWh of thermal energy produced by the two systems as the functional unit. The Ecoinvent 3.6 was used as background database and the EF 3.0 normalization as weighting set method. Uncertainty and sensitivity analysis were also included. The results show that the use phase contributes for more than 97% of the total impact for both the energy systems in the three climate zones. Despite the higher electricity consumption, the gas driven absorption heat pump offered a lower environmental profile compared with the condensing boiler, mainly because of the lower amount of natural gas needed in the use phase. In particular, an average reduction of 27% was found for CO2 eq, 25% for fossil resource consumption, and 22% for weighting results.

Solar-powered pump - Wikipedia
Solar-powered pumps run on electricity generated by photovoltaic (PV) panels or the radiated thermal energy available from collected sunlight as opposed to grid electricity- or diesel-run water pumps.[1] Generally, solar-powered pumps consist of a solar panel array, solar charge controller, DC water pump, fuse box/breakers, electrical wiring, and a water storage tank.[2] The operation of solar-powered pumps is more economical mainly due to the lower operation and maintenance costs and has less environmental impact than pumps powered by an internal combustion engine. Solar pumps are useful where grid electricity is unavailable or impractical, and alternative sources (in particular wind) do not provide sufficient energy.
